Holiday Markets + Fitness

I LOVE the holidays. Ever since I made my home in the northeast, I look forward to the indoor and outdoor holiday markets with all the vendors lined up side by side. You just never know what you’re going to find, whether it’s a handcrafted candle that smells practically edible to THE best faux leather handbags that you swear you’re buying as a gift. (Right?!)

Besides all the fun to be had visiting each of the booths, holiday markets are the perfect place to get in those steps, too. Did you know that in general one city block is about 200 steps? If you can cover 10 blocks, you’ve gone about a mile. And you know you’ll see something you love, but won’t buy it just then and will have to walk back to get it later on. Now, you can just consider that part of your plan for getting to that 10,000 daily step count! (You’re welcome.)

AND this year, I’ll be one of the vendors at an upcoming holiday market, too. Come say hello at the Shop Small, Give Well: a Makers Market at mActivity on November 24th, which is also Small Business Saturday! (Another great opportunity to get out in your area to shop and walk those city blocks!)

Get your gift & wish lists in hand and get out there for some fit fun - shopping and walking!

Here’s a list of some upcoming holiday markets in New Haven, Connecticut and beyond…
